Page title

The composer's name in the page title is "Cristòbal de Morales" but his composer page has the title "Cristóbal de Morales" (as does many other score pages). I assume that the latter is correct but I thought I'd better check since this page has been moved about a lot recently. --Bobnotts talk 23:21, 23 September 2007 (PDT)

Voicing should be SSAT?

As contributed, the tessitura of the lower two parts is unsuitable for tenor and bass. I think it should be marked SSAT.

To be singable by SATB it would need transposition down by about a fourth, probably quite a good idea anyway, considering the text.

Yes, Alan, it should indeed be SSAT. Thanks for correcting this. --Bobnotts talk 02:09, 5 October 2007 (PDT)
Bob & Alan, the composition is for equal voices, SSAA. It has been recorded also for equal men's voices, TTBB. Without transposition and some revoicing, the piece is surely not suited for SATB. The top two voices are equal tessitura and cross quite a bit. The third voice is closer to a typical modern alto part in range, and the bottom alto part is typical range for the period, down to tenor F, not low for renaissance alto part. I have changed the designation on the page, even though Sabine's edition assigns the fourth part to tenor (which is fine for a high, tenor voice or counter-tenor or can be sung by an alto). -Paul Marchesano Marchesa 01:01, 9 September 2009 (UTC)
Sabine's score does not actually assign the fourth part to tenor, from what I could see. She merely indicates that the staff is octivated. -- Vaarky 05:12, 9 September 2009 (UTC)
