Ninth Edition 1840 (1841, 1842, 1844, 1846, 1848). Tenth Edition 1850 (1855, 1857).

Description: A popular and influential singing book of the American frontier. Influenced by Wyeth's Repository of Sacred Music (1813), Kentucky Harmony (1816), Johnson's Tennessee Harmony (1818), and others. In turn The Missouri Harmony had an impact on tunebooks such as The Christian Lyre (1830-1831), Joseph Funk's A Compilation of Genuine Church Music (1832-1835), William Walker's Southern Harmony (1835), and The Sacred Harp (1844).
