Biography

Sidney Peine Waddington was born Lincoln, England. He trained in London, Frankfurt, and Vienna. He was choirmaster at St. Mary’s, Bayswater and professor of harmony and counterpoint at the Royal College of Music. Among his students were Ralph Vaughan Williams and Benjamin Britten. His compositions include piano concerti, choral works, and chamber music. He died in Uplyme, Devon.
