Welcome

Hello, welcome to CPDL! Thanks for your contributions to the site. We just need a real name to go with the editions you provided, as pseudonyms are not allowed. Could you please inform it to us? Thank you. —Carlos Email.gif 02:33, 25 June 2015 (UTC)

Hi there, I've updated my name in the Preferences panel, and redirected the links on my previous editions to point to the new editor page. Regards. —Charles (talk) 16:29, 13 July 2015 (UTC)

Hello Charles, thank you for this, and also for your new edition of Obrecht's Missa Maria zart. Regards, —Carlos Email.gif 18:18, 13 July 2015 (UTC)

Capitalisation of work page titles

Thanks for all the editions you are adding, Charles.

A small point about capitalisation. Because in the sorted lists on CPDL, capital letters are sorted differently from lower-case letters - for example, Magnificat Quarti Toni may well not end up next to Magnificat quarti toni - it is useful if you can remember to follow these guidelines.
Capitalise:
1. first letter of title on the AddWorks page;
2. First letter of names or descriptors of God;
3. First letter of proper names.

That will cover most cases, although there is a grey area around pronouns relating to God and less common descriptors - Saviour is obvious, but I'm not quite sure about rock, say!

No problem if you forget, but it saves a bit of editor time if you remember.

One thing which should ease work for contributors is that we are gradually automating the music lists on the composer pages, so there will be no need in future to move a new work to the sorted list. I've already done this for the Sacred section of the Gombert page. Jamesgibb (talk) 16:53, 5 April 2016 (UTC)

Thank you for the reminder, James. I noticed what you were doing about halfway through, so I've added the rest of the magnificat settings with the first letters on the second and third words in lower case. I'll make the work pages for them now.--Charles (talk) 17:04, 5 April 2016 (UTC)
