Belle ninfe del mar' vaghe e serene,
onde turbat' e minacciose venti,
curvi delphini, voi che state intenti
su'l mar' ad ascoltar l'alte mie pene,
ove voi lidi sonanti, ove s'attiene,
la fragil speme mia, siate contenti,
de miei si lunghi e dolorosi, e si accenti
farne fede à ciascun nocchier à che viene.
E dir anchor che l'empia donna mia
Havendo uguale, le alle alle bellezze orgoglio
mi tien in servitù senza mercede.
Jo, perche noto ai naviganti sia
la sua gran crudeltad' e la mia fede,
ho scritto il suo bel nome in questo scoglio.
