Description: Tune first published by an anonymous composer in The Scottish Psalter, 1615; harmonized by Thomas Ravenscroft, 1621, in The Whole Booke of Psalmes, pp. 68-69. Words by Thomas Sternhold, 1547, paraphrase of Psalm 32, in eleven stanzas. Stanzas 1 and 5 have meter 87. 87 – the rest are 86. 86 (C. M.).
