Biography
Carl Edmund Otto von Booth was born at Weinheim, Baden. He trained at the Conservatorium at Carlsruhe and with prominent Continental artists. He relocated to England and debuted in Birmingham. He settled in London as organist at St. Matthew’s, Bayswater. He established his reputation as composer, violinist, and organist. His compositions include a symphony, an operetta, a cantata, orchestral pieces, anthems, church works, piano pieces, songs, and part-songs.
