O’er the waters calmly flowing,
Row, ah row, O Gondolier!
Evening breezes, gently blowing,
Speed thy bark, on her career.

Crystal floods reflect the radiance
Of the sunset’s glow above,
Now with sweet melodious cadence.
Sing thy song of prosperous love!

Sing, sing gaily, homeward steering,
Sing, ah sing thy joyous song!
Now the hill-crowned shore thou’rt nearing,
Where for thee, thy loved ones long.

Kisses come with perfumed fragrance,
Wafted from yon citron grove,
Greet them with melodious cadence.
Sing thy song of prosperous love!
