The Feast of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary was, between 1263 and 1969, celebrated on 2 July. (Indeed, Christians in Germany, as well as Anglicans using the 1662 Book of Common Prayer, still observe it on this date.) In 1969 Pope Paul VI moved its date to 31 May to better accord with the feasts of the Annunciation and the Nativity of John the Baptist.
