Clementine Vulgate (Psalm 15)Latin text 1 Tituli inscriptio, ipsi David. Conserva me, Domine, quoniam speravi in te. 2 Dixi Domino: Deus meus es tu, quoniam bonorum meorum non eges. Notas mihi fecisti vias vitae; adimplebis me laetitia cum vultu tuo: delectationes in dextera tua usque in finem. |
Church of England 1662 Book of Common PrayerEnglish text 1 Preserve me, O God: for in thee have I put my trust. 2 O my soul, thou hast said unto the Lord: Thou art my God, my goods are nothing unto thee. 3 All my delight is upon the saints, that are in the earth: and upon such as excel in virtue. 4 But they that run after another god: shall have great trouble. 5 Their drink-offerings of blood will I not offer: neither make mention of their names within my lips. 6 The Lord himself is the portion of mine inheritance, and of my cup: thou shalt maintain my lot. 7 The lot is fallen unto me in a fair ground: yea, I have a goodly heritage. 8 I will thank the Lord for giving me warning: 9 I have set God always before me: for he is on my right hand, therefore I shall not fall. 10 Wherefore my heart was glad, and my glory rejoiced: my flesh also shall rest in hope. 11 For why? thou shalt not leave my soul in hell: neither shalt thou suffer thy Holy One to see corruption. 12 Thou shalt shew me the path of life; in thy presence is the fulness of joy: and at thy right hand there is pleasure for evermore. |
King James VersionEnglish text 1 Preserve me, O God: for in thee do I put my trust. 2 O my soul, thou hast said unto the LORD, Thou art my Lord: my goodness extendeth not to thee; 3 But to the saints that are in the earth, and to the excellent, in whom is all my delight. 4 Their sorrows shall be multiplied that hasten after another god: their drink offerings of blood will I not offer, nor take up their names into my lips. 5 The LORD is the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup: thou maintainest my lot. 6 The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage. 7 I will bless the LORD, who hath given me counsel: my reins also instruct me in the night seasons. 8 I have set the LORD always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved. 9 Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope. 10 For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption. 11 Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore. |
